Kingfishers have P.E. on Thursday and Friday, appropriate kit, including footwear, must be in school at all times. All jewellery including watches, must be removed during P.E. lessons.
For those children in Y4 Guitar lessons are every Tuesday afternoon. For Y3 children Ukulele lessons are on Tuesday lunchtime (for those children who have opted for this activity)
Spellings are sent home on Monday and learning logs on Friday. All homework should be in the homework box by Friday each week. Children are also expected to read their reading books weekly and have their diary signed by a parent or guardian. Diaries will be checked throughout the week.
This half term our topic is called WILD- and in our science we will be learning all about plants and living things. We will be spending lots of time studying the book, Wild, by Emily Hughes. In geography and history we will be looking at the land use in Wigan and how this has changed and evolved since the industrial revolution. In art we will study natural light and shade and how artist portray nature. We will focus particularly on the Japanese artist Hoksai, who painted the Great Wave of Kanagawa. This half term will also see the introduction of our new maths scheme, power maths, we are excited to use our new books and resources. Design technology will involve investigation gears and pulleys for Y3 and for Y4 they will embark on an exciting project called Fly to the line, a competition run by the RAF.
